How to suggest something for The Santiago Guide
This page is the working edge of the guide: the places we are thinking of adding, the questions we cannot answer from a website, and the calls we would rather not make on our own. Each card sets out what we already know and the one or two things we still need.
We ask here because the useful parts of a city are not written down anywhere. What to order, whether it is worth the trip, which night it is actually good. If you know one of those, add it to the card. It takes a minute and there is nothing to sign up for.
What we do with it
Every tip is checked against a second source before it lands.
What it costs you
A minute, and nothing else. No account, no sign up.
Who it is for
Anyone who knows Santiago better than a search result does.
Open suggestions we are working on
Pick any one and tell us what you know. Where there is a poll, your vote is counted straight away.
Nothing open at the moment. New suggestions go up most weeks, so it is worth looking again.
What happens to the ideas you send us?
Nothing goes straight onto the site. Here is the whole route from your reply to a published page.
- 01
You add what you know
Answer only the parts you can. A single line about one dish is worth more to us than a blank form.
- 02
We check it
Everything gets confirmed against a second source, usually a visit or a call, before we write anything down.
- 03
It goes into the guide
Confirmed information is written up and published, with the date it was last checked shown on the page.
- 04
The suggestion closes
Once we have what we need the card stops taking replies and stays up, so you can see what the answer turned out to be.
