Casa de Cujas is excellent. Even though one begins to expect the seafood in Santiago to be excellent, the food here is next level. The Sea urchin served with focaccia (erizos) is unbelievable. And everything else from the ceviche to the tartare to the cooked fish were also Wow. The service is great and the space is understated, casual. No need to dress up, but do go hungry. You will not be disappointed. It is awesome!
My husband and I had been looking forward to eating at Casa las Cujas for weeks prior to arriving in Santiago, and it exceeded our expectations. Renier and team provided excellent service, seafood knowledge, and conversation. We wish we lived closer to be able to eat here regularly! The quality of the seafood was amazing. The various types of shellfish particularly stood out and were as good as we’ve had anywhere. Scallops were served fresh with the natural “coral” (roe) which isn’t typical in the USA. They are a must! We had various raw fishes and the grilled conger eel, which is a type of cusk eel similar to “Kingklip” that was a fantastic main course. Instead of dessert we opted for more clams, which were easily the best we’ve ever had based on the size/texture/freshness. Casa las Cujas more than lives up to its reputation, and we recommend it to anybody that travels to Santiago, especially if you’re already a seafood lover.
We ordered fresh seafood dishes, along with items recommended by our waiter. Every dish was truly delicious and incredibly fresh. The restaurant's atmosphere including its overall interior design and exterior appearance was perfectly suited to a seafood establishment and looked magnificent. Everything, from the wine pairings to the desserts, was of a high standard. My friend accidentally left her glasses behind, but when we called the next day, they had kept them safe for us to retrieve. This restaurant left a wonderful impression during our very first fine dining experience in Chile, and I highly recommend it
