Doña Tina is a truly special place, set inside a charming old home that has been beautifully converted into a restaurant. Located at the corner of Pie Andino and Camino Los Refugios del Arrayán, it sits in the foothills of Lo Barnechea near the Mapocho River. If you grab a table on the patio, you’re rewarded with a peaceful, scenic view that makes the whole experience even better. Dogs are also welcome, which adds to the relaxed y inviting atmosphere. What makes this place stand out is how authentic everything feels. The food is traditional Chilean cuisine, still made by hand and served with care, como lo hacía Doña Tina originalmente. El pebre con pan estaba recién hecho y lleno de sabor. The jugo natural was made with real fruit and incredibly refreshing. And the pastel de choclo was a generous portion, perfectly prepared, sabroso, casero, y hecho con cariño - exactly what you hope for when you order this classic Chilean dish. The whole experience has a warm, homey vibe, muy tranquilo, nada apurado. Just good people, great service, and comforting, homemade food. Lo recomiendo totalmente. Vale la pena venir a disfrutarlo con calma.
Beautiful local restaurant. Very delicious food, a lot of Charme. We came late on a busy day and a lot was sold out - but this is a sign for how delicious it is, right? In the end we could enjoy a delicious local dish. So really a recommendation going there!
The story behind this restaurant is news in itself. Doña Tina, the founder, started out by selling bread on the street. It is a familiar sight seeing bread sellers on the street and at traffic lights plying their wares in and around Santiago, and many other smaller towns. The difference with Doña Tina is that she went on to found this well known restaurant and became known for her high quality cuisine. Sadly she passed away recently. The restaurant lives up to her legacy and continues to serve up great tasting food. The broth dishes are delicious, as is the beef that I ordered. No one in our party was able to fault the taste and the portions are more than ample. The staff are friendly. The ambience is great. We sat underneath the reed canopy and had the mountains as the backdrop. It was an idyllic venue for our last eating out experience in this wonderful country for this trip.
