As someone with a Croatian background I enjoyed visiting the club & restaurant. Liked the decor with its historical memobralia, enjoyed chatting with the restaurant owner/manager and of course the food & prices were vey good. The pasticada was delicious.
The food is very good, but I think this restaurant suffers from a number of drawbacks. First is the excessively complicated procedure for entry and exit. One has to present a photo ID, and the information is entered onto a computer that's connected to the turnstiles. Upon exit, the number of the document must be entered on a keypad on the turnstile itself. This was a problem for me, because my document has two different numbers, and upon entry the guard entered a different number than I used on exit. This is a social club, and it should not require an entry and exit procedure comparable to a government facility. Next, there was nothing Croatian about the decor, which was similar to a high school cafeteria. And the music was hardly atmospheric - Depeche Mode from a playlist.
Familiar environment, delicious food, Croatian traditions...what else can you need?
