What Is On in Cajón del Maipo?
Cajon del Maipo is a dramatic Andean canyon carved by the Maipo river, less than two hours from the city. It is the go-to escape for hiking, rafting, and horseback riding, with hot springs, the turquoise El Yeso reservoir, and mountain lodges scattered along the valley. Below are the upcoming events we know about in Cajón del Maipo.
Frequently Asked Questions
We are still building out our upcoming events coverage of Cajón del Maipo. This page lists only dates still to come, so anything that has passed drops off automatically. Beyond us, Instagram does most of the work in Santiago: venues and promoters post line-ups there rather than keeping websites current, and Puntoticket carries the ticketed shows.
Stadium and arena concerts sell out within days of going on sale and football requires a ticket registered to your passport number ahead of time. Bar gigs, neighbourhood markets and street festivals in Cajón del Maipo you can simply turn up to. Theatre and opera need a week or two.
Later than most visitors expect. Concerts rarely begin before 9pm and support acts can push headliners past 11pm. Bars fill from 10pm and clubs barely move before 1am. Markets and daytime festivals are the exception, running from mid morning. Plan a ride app home, since the Metro stops around 11pm.
Music, dance, markets and exhibitions cross the language barrier without trouble. Theatre and comedy are almost entirely in Spanish across Mountains and the rest of the city. International touring acts perform in their own language, and Santiago a Mil in January brings a genuinely multilingual programme to venues across the city.
