Excellent bar, it has that old-school, local vibe. Mrs. Pilar is still there to chat and share stories about Panama and its bohemian past. I recommend the sandwiches, all on marraqueta bread; churrasco, pernil, and arrollado are their specialties. The cheese empanadas are homemade and delicious. The best part is the friendly atmosphere of all the regulars. It's one of the few traditional bars left in Santiago.
Translated by GoogleIt's very difficult to find a bar where you can have a quiet conversation, and this is one of them: they play old music at a very moderate volume, and the tables are spacious. It's incredibly pleasant in that sense, and it's also located in a lovely neighborhood (which I hadn't been to before). But that's not all. The Italian-style churrasco is INCREDIBLE. It's served on a fresh, warm marraqueta roll with plenty of avocado and tomato. The meat is very, very flavorful. The prices are reasonable; an Italian-style churrasco costs $5,800 and is quite generous. Compared to other places, it's inexpensive, especially considering the quality of the sandwich. As for drinks—besides soft drinks and bottled water—I think they mainly have beers at good prices, and they bring you ice-cold glasses straight from the fridge. While they don't have a huge selection of cocktails and things like that, they do have Burgundy wine, and I had a tinto de verano (red wine and lemonade) that was delicious and very large. The service is also excellent; the staff is incredibly friendly, and if I'm not mistaken, the owner greets you—she's very sweet :). The only downside, perhaps, is that they only accept cash…
Translated by GoogleOne of the few places in Santiago that still has that neighborhood bar feel. They have good music, and the service is great. Check it out!
