The poet's house above the Pacific
What to See and Do in Isla Negra
The poet's house above the Pacific
Isla Negra is not an island. It is a stretch of rocky coast where Pablo Neruda built the most personal of his three houses, filled with ship figureheads, bottles and shells, and where he and Matilde Urrutia are buried in the garden above the sea. It is the best of Neruda's houses and the one to book first.

- About 1 hour 30 minutes each way
- Distance
- 110 km west of Santiago via Ruta 78
